CHINGARI

The ongoing project of Vidyoday Foundation CHINGARI has entered now in the fifth year. As the river flows and takes various turns and shapes, adjusting with and overcoming the hurdles in the path; CHINGARI also kept on evolving. Teachers and learners kept on changing year by year. New methods of teaching were tried. New experiences gained. One of the student was not able to pay any attention to what was going on in the class. She would not participate in any activity in the class. Many things were tried to make her take interest in learning but in vain. The Student teacher went to her teacher for guidance. Together they decided to meet the parents of the girl student and found out about their family circumstances and constraints. With the understanding of that student’s family background and problems the student was given special care and dealing by one teacher personally and slowly she started participating in the class room activities. There are many such stories in the CHINGARI project.
